🇺🇸 LABOR DAY — MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2026
Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and gives families one more opportunity to enjoy our local communities before the fall routine fully begins.

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11 — WE WILL NEVER FORGET
This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
We pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the courageous first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless families and communities forever impacted by that day.
For New Yorkers, September 11 remains especially personal. It is a day to remember those we lost, recognize the extraordinary bravery of our first responders, and reflect on the strength and unity our city and country demonstrated in the days that followed.
New Yorkers will have several opportunities to honor and remember.
The official 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony will take place at the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan on September 11. The morning commemoration ceremony is reserved for family members and the 9/11 community.
Closer to the communities we serve, the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil will be held at Maimonides Park in Coney Island on September 10 at 6:00 PM, honoring firefighters and other first responders who lost their lives on September 11.
FDNY remembrance ceremonies and events will also take place throughout New York City.
On Sunday, September 13, New York City will host the inaugural Remembrance Ruck, beginning at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, and ending near Foley Square in Manhattan.
The event recognizes the service and sacrifice of the post-9/11 generation of veterans, service members, and military families.

🎾 US OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS — FLUSHING, QUEENS
One of the world’s premier sporting events is happening right here in our backyard.
The 2026 US Open continues through September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
